Without a doubt, this is one of my favorite air drum songs! I found myself playing it multiple times last night and although the song is about a guitar, you would think it were all about the drums. I am a drumming junkie. This comes from the days of hanging out at grandma and grandpa’s house. Uncle Al use to play. I remember always being mesmerized by the big red set and by the beat and wish that I could make those rolls happen. Now, if you know my uncle or grandfather, you would know that they’d always be tapping along to the beat of a song. I’ve never seen anyone drum on the side of a bar like Uncle Al. It makes me smile when I think about it, but I do the same thing. All the time. Yes, I’m just like them and if you can’t find the beat of a song – then wow, I just don’t know what is wrong with you.
So, there you have it, Juke Box Hero by Foreigner: Always keeping me on beat.
Today was rough. It was one of those days where nothing was going right with no positive outlook. So, what did I do? I went in search of a song, something that would get me through the day. Wouldn’t you know that nothing was working…I was that irritated! I kept wanting to pick something hard and heavy to describe how crappy of a mood I was in, but it didn’t work.
After work, I went to the gym. Something had to help. By the end of my insane workout I felt 100% better and forgot about all the small things that were bothering me earlier. Wouldn’t you know, when I got in my car and the radio started, there it was – my song for the day. “Dancing in Circles” by Love and Theft. I can’t exactly put my finger on why I like this song so much, but I always end up blaring my speakers to it when it comes on. I feel like it’s a song that would be at the end of a great movie that told a difficult story, but that turned out okay in the end. You always feel uplifted after those types of movies. This song came at the end of a hard day and made me feel uplifted.
